
Best Comfort Food For A Fall Wedding Menu
The Fall brings us the cooler weather, and everyone likes cozy evenings by the fire eating our favorite foods and sipping our favorite drinks. So, attending a Fall wedding and being served the delicious comfort foods we all crave at this time of the year is something to look forward to. The bride in her beautiful wedding dress will be the belle of the ball but having a scrumptious food menu will certainly make your guests happy.
Hors d’ oeuvres are being served along with cocktails and remember your signature cocktail. Being Fall, think of something warm as well as delicious, like a mulled wine infused with cinnamon and nutmeg, add a splash of orange liquor, also prosecco and blood orange cocktails to go well with Blue cheese and Brie canapes topped with cranberry chutney, as well as mini wood-fired smoked pizzas.
If you have decided on a buffet for the wedding reception dinner, the chefs with their tall white hats could serve a selection of the best comfort foods. The long farmhouse tables are filled with Cauldrons of butternut squash, carrot with curry and cinnamon soup, served with fresh pieces of bread and creamy butter.
The main dishes are all the best roasts for a cool day. There are roast beef, roast lamb, and roasted pork. Served with roasted sprouts, garlic mashed potatoes, fresh green beans covered with fresh mint, roasted sweet potatoes and yams spiced with a hint of cinnamon. The salad bar is filled with homemade beets, three-bean salad, black kalamata olives, arugula and romaine salad, pine nuts, and shaved pieces of parmesan cheese, fresh tomatoes, and deviled eggs, and of course a selection of crusty rolls.
There is a dessert station filled with your favorite pies, with pumpkin, apple, rhubarb and pecan, and fresh in-season pears with fresh cream and caramel sauce. For chocolate lovers, there is a fresh fruit station with a chocolate fountain. If you prefer an ice cream station serving all the favorite flavors along with an assortment of sauces, you could have strawberry, raspberry, chocolate fudge, caramel and assortment of toppings for sprinkling, or if you would prefer a smores station, and apples are also in season, so you could offer them dripped in toffee.
After a delicious dinner, you can enjoy a specialty coffee, there is espresso, cappuccino or americano, or if you prefer something with alcohol there are many different choices, like Irish coffee with whiskey and whipped cream, Spanish coffee made with Tia Maria, rum and cream or a coffee with baileys, cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. There could also be a selection of teas, regular and herbal and hot chocolate with marshmallows or just a digestive.
