Bride Story Featuring Blake Baumbach

 

Blake met her husband in accounting class at The College of Charleston during their junior year! Wedding Dress Designer is Calla Blanche.

While on a weekend getaway at The Biltmore in North Carolina her then boyfriend popped the question! It was during the holiday season, so the hotel was decked out in beautiful twinkly lights, wreaths, gingerbread houses, and over the top Christmas trees – how romantic! The holidays have always been a special time for the two of them, so it was only fitting that he proposed in front of the grand Christmas tree, and after containing her excitement, Blake said “yes!” They hugged, cried happy tears, laughed, and had the most perfect evening!

The couple tied the knot on November 3rd, 2018 at The Gadsden House in Charleston, SC.

For Blake, there are so many great memories that it’s tough to choose just one! She would have to say the first-look was definitely memorable. All of the nerves, excitement, and anticipation of the morning spent getting ready with all her closest friends and family led to this moment of seeing each other for the first time… and it was simply perfect!

Blake said yes to the dress at Verità, A Bridal Boutique in Charleston. She absolutely loved the dress shopping experience and feeling like a princess for the day! She had always envisioned a dress with lace-sleeves, especially since the season allowed with their wedding taking place in November, but she kept an open mind throughout the process. The ‘Debra’ by Calla Blanche style # 17255 was the last dress she tried on, and when she did, both her mom and her broke in tears! It was such a special moment, and they just knew she had found THE ONE. It had a little bit of everything they were looking for: delicate lace applique, soft sparkle, champagne tulle, romantic plunging neckline and a low back. The dress really helped inspire the whimsical aesthetic of the custom monogram, flowers, and guided every decision for the overall design of her wedding!
