The Bride's Survival Guide: Average Wedding Cost
The cost of the wedding differs from one couple to another and highly dependent on their preference. They can go from a massive and expensive celebration to a subtle and simple with minimal attendance ceremony.
In a recent study, the average cost of a wedding in 2019 was $33900. Meaning, some celebrators spent more than that mark. Imagine, in just one celebration, they were able to spend more than $33900, it is huge but still worth it considering that this event is momentous and worth to remember for the rest of your life.
There are many factors to consider when gauging the possible cost, you may need to spend:
The number of guests
The suppliers you hire
With these factors, you can somehow assess the amount you need to prepare. Moving on, below are some of the factors you need to consider when discussing the wedding cost.
Keeping up with the wedding cost
Although spending money is only normal for weddings, you sure would not want to go beyond what you can afford. And to help you with it, below are some of the things you need to think about and consider.
· Stick with your budget
Never go beyond your budget. It is best if you divide your overall budget to different aspects, like the venue, catering services, photography, etc. and when you already set a budget for a particular expense, make sure that you do not go beyond that because if you do, you might end up affecting the rest of your suppliers’ budget.
Always stick with your budget, you can go a little above and below but never way over.
· Canvass prices
Canvass prices from one supplier to another. You must not hire the first nor the cheapest supplier you will encounter. Make sure that when you canvass, you ask for detailed information about the package. Know its inclusions and exclusions, and the quality of work they provide.
This may be time-consuming but needless to say, the money you will save from doing so can give you a huge help in budgeting your wedding finances.
· Ask for recommendations
To help you with the costing, asking for recommendations can be performed. Ask your friends or relatives who have had a wedding recently on any recommendations they can provide. Here, you are not looking for cheap rates but a high quality of work. Sure, you want to save up on your wedding but that should not sacrifice the quality of the wedding you will experience.
The recommendations you gathered from your friends and relatives must be taken highly and ponder about.
· Plan far ahead
Planning ahead of time is recommended as rushing can put you in a situation where you are left without a choice but to hire a very expensive service. You are not the only one celebrating weddings, tons are planning to do the same on the same date as yours, hence do not expect that cheap wedding suppliers are still available. Planning can help you filter options and hire a photographer, or any supplier so to speak, that is not only offering cheap but high-quality services as well.
Apart from that, many suppliers give away early-bird discounts and mind you, the discounts one can get from here is not low. Also, if you plan, you are limiting yourself from cramming and stress.
· Know what you want
Before you even go to a supplier, make sure that you already know what you want. Of course, you are there to discuss some matters but you have to know what you want. You need to outline your expectations and make sure that all of these are incorporated into your wedding.
One of the reasons why couples spend more than what they can afford is they come unprepared; hence they nod to almost everything that they offer. Keep in mind that it is your wedding, so your desires and decisions must prevail. Jot down all your expectations, special requests if there are any and liking. Do not let the suppliers control your wedding and this cannot be stressed as much “COME PREPARED”.
· Do not choose impulsively
Impulsive choices will end you with regrets and disappointments. Even how beautiful the wedding gown you see, do not impulsively buy the gown, go home, think about it or if possible, check for other options. Impulsive buying, not only limited to weddings, is not a good idea at all.
Make sure that you think before you exchange your hard-earned money to any items.
Make the cost of your wedding within your reach. There is so much to spend not only during the wedding but after that too, dream house, appliances, furniture, etc. Making yourself drown to debt just to make your dream wedding come true is not ideal at all.
