  • Do I need to send invitations?

Yes you do. Worry not as much as invitations on engagement party should not be as formal as the one you will send on your wedding. You can choose to send the invitation through email or through your social network account.

However you plan to send your invitation, make sure to request for an RSVP.

  • Who should I invite on the engagement party?

Basically, you have to invite the same people you want to see on your wedding. But, if you have more money to spare, you can invite people you think cannot attend your wedding because of headcount restriction.

Some would only invite their family and closest friends. The decision on who to invite is on you and your partner. Invite who you think can make this wedding celebration memorable, fun and meaningful.

  • Where will my engagement party will be held?

It all depends on you and the host of the party. You can decide to do it on your backyard or anywhere else. You have to make sure though that logistics are well planned. If you are planning to do it in your backyard, you have to make sure that there is enough parking space for your guests to safely park their cars.

Depending on the number of guests you are planning to invite, the location of the engagement party can be almost anywhere.

  • How formal should it be?

It actually depends on what you want, you can go from a very formal theme to a lot less one. But for a better approach, you can go for a more relaxed ambiance, anyway engagement party is all about fun. You do not need to request your guests to wear something that is too formal but you can consider a theme.

  • What to serve guests?

You can serve whatever you want, but make sure that your guest will be full after the event. If you are planning to hold the party in the evening prepare lunch, when in the afternoon, prepare lunch. The food you will serve should depend on the time you invited them. Although, you have to make sure that you are serving them cocktails and beers.

  • Do I need to hire a party organizer?

If the engagement party is part of your wedding coordinator’s package, let them do the party arrangements for you, if not, you can hire a separate group or you can seek help from your friends or family instead. Although, if you do not have too much time to spend preparing for this event, better have someone knowledgeable to decide on this party.

  • Should I expect gifts on this event?

Maybe, but just like to your wedding, you cannot expect to receive gifts from all your guests. There are some who will bring a gift, while there are some who won’t. Just to make sure that everyone will have an idea on what gift to give, create a gift registry as well.

  • What kind of decorations do I need to incorporate with this event?

First you have to ask what theme do you prefer. Once you identify your theme, you can decide on the decorations you will use. If it is in your backyard, you can make it simple but make sure it is well lighted. On the other hand, if you are planning to celebrate it in a private restaurant you should not worry about decorations as you can celebrate this event as is.

Engagement party is all about you and your loved one. You can work on it however you want. There is no limitations, there is no strict guidelines to follow.
