The Bride’s Survival Guide: Things That Can Make Your Guests Really Happy

Wedding is, of course, being the prettiest girl in the venue, wearing the best wedding dress, marrying the man you love and sharing romantic moments with your partner, but the wedding is not all about you and your partner, it is also about your guests who exerted their efforts just to be with you on this special day.

As someone who is celebrating their wedding, it is only right that they return to their guests the favor back. Sure, it is their pleasure being invited on your big day but that does not mean you will disregard all their efforts and not make a way to give them the happiness, which by the way they really deserve.

What You Can Do To Make Your Guests Really Happy

So, what can you do to make your guests really happy? Here are some of them:

  • Let them know wedding details ahead of time

If you are planning to invite friends and family overseas, it is only right that you give them the details ahead of time. Sure, you are asking them a huge favor by spending tons of dollars on transportation and leaving their responsibilities in their home town just to be with you on this most special day. Just to be a bit considerate that they have a life too, let them know the details of your wedding ahead of time.

Give them ample time to prepare, do not rush or force them to come if they cannot.

  • Choose a location or a venue that is comfortable

Make sure that the venue is not all about fancy decorations as it should give your guests comfort. Like if you are planning to do your wedding outdoors on the summer season, make sure that there is enough shade for everyone. For the winter season, on the other hand, do not forget to serve warm drinks the moment they get in the venue or give them wraps or blankets when necessary.

Seats should be very comfortable as they will sit on them for quite a long time.

Also, make sure that directions are given in a clearer manner possible. Do not let anyone get lost as they go to the venue. You can include a map in the invitation or you can post it on your wedding website.

  • Plan your seating arrangement wisely

Give your guests the chance to focus on the event and relax by giving them a dedicated seat. Count the number of your guests, make sure that everyone will have a seat and enough legroom to move around.

Let them sit at the table where they are surrounded by people they know or at least have the same interest as them.

  • Have an area where kids can play safely

Give the kid’s parents a break and let them enjoy the party without their kids. Have a dedicated area where all kids can have fun and play. This area needs to have assigned personnel to look after the kids. Have two to three attendants, depending on the number of kids you are expecting to attend, available to look after their safety.

This is a favor you can give not only to parents but also to kids so they won’t get bored.

  • Make sure that the wedding program flows smoothly

After the ceremony is over, your photos together with your new spouse will be taken, this may take a bit of a long time. During the interim make sure that your guests are not getting bored. Have a cocktail hour so they can mingle with other guests, serve enough food, play good music, and have a photo booth available (if your budget can afford it).

Let them enjoy themselves during this time and never let them hanging or clueless about what they need to do next.

  • Make sure that there are washrooms available

One of the things you must prioritize is the availability of the washrooms or bathrooms. Sure, there are some from your guests who also want to retouch. Give them a decent place where they can apply makeup again and change their hairstyle.

Make sure that the bathrooms are accessible for guests who need to pee. Letting them walk long distances is not the best way to treat your guests right.

  • Give them a ride

If the wedding venue is hard to reach, or the wedding ceremony venue is far from the wedding reception venue, make sure that there is enough transportation for guests who do not have cars. Do not give them a problem as to how to reach the venue.

This may be a little costly but needless to say, this can definitely give your guests happiness and a feeling that they are really valued.

  • Give away wedding favors

Wedding favor does not need to be expensive, you can go by jars of sweeties or goodies, keychain, or any other token to let your guests know that you appreciate their presence. Although, if you have spare money to spend, you can go for wedding favors that are useful.

Whatever it is you give them is for sure something they would thank for and appreciate.

  • Thank them

At the end of the wedding reception, do not forget to thank everyone for showing up. Let them know how thankful you are they have come to your event. Also, after the wedding, do not forget to send thank you cards not just to guests who give gifts but to all the guests. This is a simple yet romantic way of letting your guests know that you really appreciate their presence.

A wedding is indeed a momentous event celebrated with the people you love. Giving guests the happiness they deserve is nothing but necessary.

Apart from those written above, there are a lot of other things you have to think and consider about your wedding.
